  • Use & Occupancy permit only required for residential new construction, commercial or change in use.
  • Sewer rental fees in the Township are $250.00 per year per equivalent dwelling unit. An equivalent dwelling unit is a single home, which is estimated to use 275 gallons of water per day. A single home (twin, single, townhouse, or condominium unit) is charged for 1 EDU, or $250.00 per year, flat rate. Contact township for commercial property definitions and rates.

  • Zoning ordinance 208-123R – Off site open house directionals are NOT permitted. Sign may only be placed on the property for sale.

For Sale/Sold Signs

  • Zoning ordinance 208-123R – No more than 12 sq. ft sign per street frontage. No more than one sign shall be erected on, adjacent to or facing each street upon which the property fronts. Such signs are removed within 14 days of the signing of an agreement of real estate sale or rental. Real estate signs are exempt from sign permit but not exempt from placement rules.

  • Student Housing registration required.
  • Effective mid-September 2010 – A registration ordinance requires both current and future homeowners who rent to students to register with the township. Homeowners will be required to provide their own contact information and that of their renters. Also, information must be provided about the college/university/trade school the renter will be attending.
  • Effective mid-September 2010 – Zoning Ordinance, states that all future homeowners wishing to rent to students in the R-1/2, 1, 2, 3 and 4 residential districts would need special-exception approval from the Zoning Hearing Board before occupancy. To qualify, the owner will need to show that the property meets the requirements of the ordinance. Those requirements include a buffer of at least 10 feet around the home, no more than three student tenants, and a specified minimum distance from other student homes.
